Herb Basted Pork Chop
Ingredients:
For the Pork Chops:
4 bone-in pork chops, about 1 inch thick
Salt and black pepper, to taste
1 tablespoon olive oil
For the Herb Basting Sauce:
4 tablespoons unsalted butter
4 cloves garlic, minced
2 tablespoons fresh parsley, finely chopped
1 tablespoon fresh thyme, chopped
1 tablespoon fresh rosemary, chopped
1 tablespoon fresh sage, chopped
Salt and black pepper, to taste
Instructions:
Preparing the Pork Chops:
Season the Pork Chops:
Pat the pork chops dry with paper towels.
Season both sides of the pork chops with salt and black pepper.
Preheat the Pan:
Heat olive oil in a large oven-safe skillet over medium-high heat.
Sear the Pork Chops:
Place the pork chops in the hot skillet and sear for about 3-4 minutes per side, or until they develop a golden brown crust.
Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) during this time.
Prepare the Herb Basting Sauce:
In a small saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat.
Add minced garlic and sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant.
Add Fresh Herbs:
Stir in the chopped parsley, thyme, rosemary, and sage. Cook for an additional 1-2 minutes to infuse the butter with the flavors of the herbs.
Season the sauce with salt and black pepper to taste.
Basting and Finishing:
Baste the Pork Chops:
Pour the herb basting sauce over the seared pork chops, ensuring they are well-coated.
Transfer to the Oven:
Place the skillet with the pork chops in the preheated oven and roast for about 10-15 minutes, or until the internal temperature reaches 145°F (63°C) for medium doneness.
Baste Again:
Occasionally baste the pork chops with the herb sauce during the roasting process.
Rest and Serve:
Once the pork chops are cooked to your liking, remove them from the oven and let them rest for a few minutes.
Serve and Enjoy:
Plate the herb-basted pork chops, spooning any remaining herb sauce over the top. Serve them with your favorite side dishes.
