Chocolate Chip Salted Caramel Tart
Ingredients:
For the Cookie Crust:
1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter, softened
1/2 cup granulated sugar
2 cups all-purpose flour
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 cup chocolate chips
For the Caramel Layer:
1 cup caramel candies, unwrapped
1/4 cup heavy cream
For the Chocolate Drizzle:
1/2 cup chocolate chips
2 tablespoons heavy cream
Instructions:
Cookie Crust:
Preheat Oven:
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a tart pan or line it with parchment paper.
Cream Butter and Sugar:
In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
Add Dry Ingredients:
Gradually add the flour and salt to the butter-sugar mixture, mixing until just combined. Fold in the chocolate chips.
Press into Tart Pan:
Press the cookie dough into the bottom of the tart pan, covering the base evenly and forming a crust. Use your fingers or the back of a spoon to achieve an even layer.
Bake:
Bake in the preheated oven for about 15-20 minutes or until the edges are golden brown. Allow it to cool completely.
Caramel Layer:
Prepare Caramel:
In a small saucepan, melt the caramel candies with the heavy cream over medium-low heat. Stir continuously until the caramel is smooth and well combined.
Pour over Cookie Crust:
Once the cookie crust has cooled, pour the melted caramel over it, spreading it evenly.
Chocolate Drizzle:
Prepare Chocolate Drizzle:
In a microwave-safe bowl, combine the chocolate chips and heavy cream. Microwave in 20-second intervals, stirring each time until the chocolate is melted and smooth.
Drizzle Chocolate:
Drizzle the melted chocolate over the caramel layer in a decorative pattern.
Chill:
Place the tart in the refrigerator to allow the caramel and chocolate to set. This may take at least 1-2 hours.
Serve:
Once set, slice and serve the Caramel Chocolate Chip Cookie Tart. Enjoy the rich, gooey goodness!
